Being The World’s Leader Means We Have the
Resources and Technology to Build a Better Boat.
From the humble beginnings in 1884 as a builder of fishing trawlers, Beneteau has become the world leader in the production and sales of sailing yachts. Albeit an enviable position for the competition, there are many distinguishing features making Beneteau's unique sailing vessels the foremost choice for thousands of sailors worldwide. Use of World-Renowned Naval Architects
Rather than using in-house designers, Beneteau draws from the talent of some of the world’s finest naval architects. A difference that separates Beneteau from the competition. |

Beneteau is the World’s Most Respected Name in Sailing Yachts
When evaluating any sailing vessel, you should start with ‘The bones’. Look closely at how every element of the boat is constructed. Look at the methods that form the foundation. Consider the resources of the builder. Is the manufacturer here for the long haul? Do they have the means to invest in extensive research and development? Do they have the purchasing power to deliver more yacht for the price?
The simplicity of the Beneteau recipe for quality boatbuilding is more resources, higher efficiency and the ability to buy economically from the best suppliers in the marine industry. The result, Beneteau is a better value. Higher value when you invest in your new Beneteau-and higher value when you sell. |
Innovative Styling - Beneteau yachts are known for their sophistication and innovative designs, yet our vessels harken back to the classics with traditional visual appeal. We have developed our boats over the years to meet the desires of the American market while still maintaining an international “flair”. Our French team, Bureau d’Etudes, is responsible for the beautiful interior design and research. We think you’ll agree our yachts are some of the most beautiful production boats afloat.
 |
Grid System - This system spreads the load evenly, eliminating flex in a structure that islighter and stiffer than traditional construction. The grid is laminated using high-strength nonwoven stitchmat fiberglass and unidirectional rovings to achieve maximum structural distribution of all loads and forces while controlling weight. The completed hull and grid are bonded together using a proprietary polyester adhesive compound that chemically links the parts together.
Mated Hull and Structural Grid/Liner Molds - The liner can be placed exactly into position while the hull is still in the mold – producing exceptional accuracy in form.
 |
 |
Hand Lay-Up - For added strength, ensured repeatability and efficiency of production, patterned cut fiberglass is laminated with a vinyl-ester resin on hull skin coats – ensuring specific placement of laminate thickness.
360 degree Bonded Bulkheads - Reinforces Structural Strength Not just “room dividers”...the bulkheads are bonded using a two-component polyurethane adhesive manufactured by LORD® Corporation. As a boat “works” and flexes in rough conditions, the bond remains 100% intact and does not gradually degrade as with glass tabbing. |
Beautifully Crafted European Styled Interiors – We have one of the most advanced furniture manufacturing facilities in the maritime Industry. Utilizing computer-guided machinery to create perfect fitting joinery, Each component is first hand sanded and inspected before receiving several coats of machine applied varnish for uniform gloss and durability. |
Hull to Deck Joint - Our hull to deck joint with wide return flange is one of the strongest in the industry. It is chemically bonded with mechanical shear fasteners. 100% reliability with no recorded failure in millions of miles of tough ocean conditions.
|
Top Of The Line Deck Hardware & Rigging - As the world’s largest sailboat manufacturer, we have tremendous buying power. This allows us to economically use the best hardware and rigging from top suppliers such as Raymarine®, Harken®, Lewmar®, Edson®, Navtec®, Sparcraft®, ProFurl®, and many others. |
Extensive Testing - For quality and consistency, a battery of tests of all raw materials is enforced before use in the production process. To ensure quality control, there are tests performed such as burn tests, laminate schedule tests, Barcol (hardness) and tests for imperviousness.
Environmentally sensitive - We are in the forefront providing the best practical environmentally friendly process during production manufacturing. This includes our recycling program, proprietary ventilation system, and state-of-the-art dust control system. In addition, our styrene emission levels are lower than those proposed under the Maximum Achievable Control Technology (MACT) standards. |
Cast Iron Keels - The iron poured into our keels has 20,000 - 25,000 psi tensile strength, compared to 1,000 - 2,000 psi for pure lead and only 6,000 psi for lead alloys. Before mounting, each Beneteau keel is sealed with a multi-coat, hard finish epoxy for protection and a smooth finish.
|
Composite Rudder Stock - Can withstand nearly three times the force of a stainless steel shaft. A focus on durability and safety without compromising performance. |
Beneteau Specific Performance Sails – Manufactured by Neil Pryde®, the sails on our Marion-built boats are designed for maximum performance and strength. They come with Multi-Track Foam Luff systems, utilize Challenger Radial Weave sailcloth in the head and clews of the main and headsails. In addition, they feature leather chafe/U.V. protection, and use the best Hemmingway and Bartlett thread.production process. |
Built with Pride in the U.S.A – The envy of our competition, Marion, South Carolina is home to our 200,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that produces sailing vessels from 31 to 47 feet. We have been building sailing vessels with U.S pride since 1986 and it is an example of Beneteau’s commitment to the U.S market. Click Here to Tour the Beneteau Factory in Marion, S.C.
